May 14 thru May 20

Today we are headed for the town of Chimacum,WA. The park here is beautiful and very pleasant and it is close to a lot of interesting places we will enjoy. There are a lot of WWII Forts that were placed along the beach to protect us from enemy attacks during the war. One of the things we were surprised to learn was that these guns were never fired in a hostel situation and were maintained for a number of years. We find we can spend hours poking around at nothing. Every morning we pack a picnic lunch for the day; we choose an interesting place to stop and dine in the beauty of the area.
One day while driving down a country road we came upon a "Troll Farm" with the road running right through the farm. The man had carved Troll's everywhere and on everything. The house was a castle and even the fence post were Troll's. There was no charge to look, it was just his hobby and he didn't want any trespassers.
While we were here we visited and toured the area with our friends Bob and Adele and we also went into Seattle to see Sharon's brother. Everyday is so busy we are totalally exhausted at bed time. We are having such a good time it is hard to believe we don't have to hurry and see everything in one day. We can take a week or more if we choose on the things that interest us or just keep on driving through places that don't interest us. If the price of fuel keeps going up, we might find that a whole lot more things are looking more interesting.
