July 19 Wednesday

We are on the road again headed for Murdo, SD which is 150 miles from Rapid City. This is the town that Sharon was born in; she has a cousin Linda and her family who live here. We went again to the country to the home where Sharon's grandparents lived when she was a little girl. We asked the owner if we could get some old barn wood to make picture frames for the wonderful pictures we took with the setting sun on the old house. He said yes but be careful of rattle snakes that are real common to find there. Kent wearing his shorts and his hiking boots (He looked like a real "Drug Store Cowboy") headed off to the old barn on a mission to get those boards so we could get back to the safety of the truck. We carefully walked through the tall prairie grass to the old barn. When we got there we looked at each other and said "we forgot the hammer"!!!!!! After all that we were not going to go home empty handed. We started pulling the boards off with our bare hands and I think we did quite well because Kent is still grumbling about those old boards in the back of his truck.
We are leaving for Pierre in the morning.
