We are now in Oceano, California staying in the Elk's Club RV Park on Pismo Beach. This is a beautiful park and it is always full and harder to get into as it is 1/2 block for the ocean. A Lot of the RV's big and little, camp about 2 miles up the the beach. We saw that the tide was up to the wheels of a brand new 40 foot toy hauler motor home. They let the air out of their tires until they were almost flat to get through the deep tacks in the sand to and from the beach. Sunday we sat with Dallas and Lawanda (the couple we met from Pacific City, OR) on the beach for over an hour watching the campers heading for home after a busy weekend of 4 wheeling and playing on the beach. The more rigs that go up the incline from the beach, the more softer and worse the tracks got by several tracks running together. We were making bets on who would get stuck or make it, hoping someone would get stuck so we could see more fun. It was close for a lot of them, but all the campers made it out. When they got out, they would go to the blacktop where they sell air from air compressors or use their own compressors. They would fill up their tires for the trip home until the next weekend to do it all over again.
Then along comes a young man and his gal in a nice BMW. He must have thought it was easy to go through if those big rigs made it. Wrong!!!! It took a big truck and a long rope to get him out of the hole and back on firm sand with lots of instructions on how to do it right the second time."A better run at it and don't slow down" and many more instructions.
. After all that excitement, Dallas and Lawanda joined us for a cold beer at the Elks Club .
