April 14 through the 22

Were headed for Laughlin, Nevada, it is too cold here for us. We are staying at the "Riverside Casino and RV campground". The weather is lovely here (85 degrees) and we are enjoying the sun so much. The town is so small, that we walk all over to the different casinos. They had a rodeo while we were here and we had fun there. Sharon grew up going to rodeos with her dad and she still likes going to them. The thing that we got the biggest chuckle out of was going to Mass in the auditorium of the casino. They had a band playing there after they took down the altar. The Catholics really got their foot in the door by having Mass there. It was packed with people loaded with money for the collection and others praying to get back some of their losses. Their was an array of different attires the people wore. The Mass was good and we enjoyed it very much.
While we were in Laughlin we drove to the town of Oatman, AZ. It was once a thriving mining community and now it is just a small town with the atmosphere of the days of the old west. There are wild burros that were brought to the area by the miners. When the miners left the area they just left the burros to roam wild. Now they roam the streets begging for carrots that they sell in all the shops.(Pictures) On weekends they have cowboy gunfights and showdowns in the middle of town.
