November 7 and 8th, 2007

Wednesday the 7th This morning we got up early and we headed for Twin falls, Idaho to meet our friends Don and OJ. We are bringing O.J. back to Portland to see her family, as we are going her direction and it will be fun to have her company along the way. We drove 400 miles to Pendleton, Oregon, we were pretty tired when stopped for the night.l It was dark and cold when we set up the trailer, so we turned up the heat and headed over to the casino for a bite to eat and try our luck at the slots. It was ladies night, so O.J. and Sharon both got a $5.00 bill to play in the machines. We ate dinner, played the slots for an hour or more and headed home for bed to get some sleep for another long day heading home.
Thursday the 8th We had a lovely free breakfast at the casino and us girls lost a couple of bucks in the slot machine while we waited for Kent to join us. We were on the road about 10AM. We had just stopped for Milk shakes in Boardman, Oregon when we got a phone call from Sharon's sister and husband. They were in Yakima heading home to Nebraska from visiting in Seattle. They were hoping to catch us at Pendleton and meet for lunch. If they had just called 30 minutes sooner, we would have waited for them. We felt bad to be so close yet so far. We were just like two ships passing in the night. We dropped off our friend in Portland and we got to Salem about 4:30PM. We left the 5th wheel at the Elks Club and grabbed a few clothes and came home to our house. It was soon dark and the end of a busy long day. It is good to be home for the Holidays.
