Tuesday 9~~~ What a terrible day to be driving in such heavy traffic with the rain coming down so hard the wipers could hardly handle it. The sky got so black, the on coming traffic all had their headlights on and it was like driving at night. We have never seen the sky so black at noon before. Coming into Jersey, we could see "Lady Liberty" from the interstate. Sharon was all excited and was taking pictures as we went down the road. (picture) We arrived at the campground across the Hudson River from Manhattan in New Jersey about 1PM. There was a line of campers ahead of us pulling in, so we sat and ate our lunch that we couldn't eat while driving today because of the rain and traffic. We finally got our rig parked and all set up and we took off to the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty which we can see from our campground. When we got there, it was too late to have any time there today, so we decided to come back and go in the morning. Inside of the ticket station was large boards of pictures and notes from the 911 wall. When the new museum is built, these sections of wall will go in the new museum. (picture) We came home, and Sharon fixed us fresh shrimp flour tortillas. She made them the way they make them in Mexico at our favorite little stand. Mmmmmmmm so goooooooooood.
