Tuesday 7 ~~~We drove into Savannah this morning and we drove all over looking at the beautiful large homes from the 1800's and earlier. They are so large, I can't imagine keeping one clean, especially washing all those windows. Next we ate our lunch we brought at a small park, we came upon Paula Deen's restaurant. We saw a line of ladies waiting to go into this old brick building and as we got closer, we saw the sign (picture) of her place. Her gift shop is in a building right next door to the restaurant, so they put their name on the guest list, and go next door to shop. She really has it made with people spending their money while they wait to spend more money on her food. Parking in the town is impossible, so Kent let Sharon off and he double parked while she looked around the gift shop. Paula's two sons were there signing her books, there was a line clear out the door. I took their picture, but I certainly wasn't about to stand in line just to have my picture taken with them. It was a bad hair day anyway, too much wind and misty rain here. ha We went out for dinner at the "Sticky Fingers" BBQ place that evening. I think they have the best ribs we have ever ate, they gave us 4 ribs to sample the sauce, we weren't sure which one we wanted. The manager came to our table after we ate to see how we liked the food and we got to visiting with him and we told him we got their brochure from the visitors center out by the freeway. He told us he had just tried putting his flyer's there last week and was so happy to see he was getting business. When we left, he sent home with us a gift box of all their BBQ sauces they use and sell. I think he was lonesome for home and his family and we spent time visiting with him and listening to him talk about his restaurant. He was such an impressive young man and we enjoyed him so much.
