Monday 19~~~~ Kent went to Portland today and I met one of my hair clients and Helen one of my co-workers for lunch at the Elks Club where we had a great time catching up on our lives and making plans for a Christmas get together. From there I went to the beauty salon where I visited with Pat and Nancy for about an hour, it is always fun to go there and see a lot of the clients that I still miss so much. My grandson Ray had a soccer game at 4:30 that I went to and they won, they have one more game and they have won them all so far. The weather has been so nice so far while we are home, I have been to a lot of soccer games in the years past and it poured rain on us. Tuesday 20~~~ Kent moved the 5th wheel to the Salem Elks from the Beaverton Elks today and we went to Rays last game. (picture) They won again their last game, Lisa brought them cupcakes and drinks for a treat, they had a good season this year. Friday 23~~~~ Kent went to Portland to help our friend Gary buy a new flat screen TV for his condo, it sure is beautiful. I had dinner with Tress and the kids tonight, as Kent got home late. Saturday 24~~~~ Another beautiful day for us to go to another grandsons ballgame. Kent's grandson Nathan plays football for his school and we are sure are proud of how good he plays. He is the one who usually runs with the ball and he sure has made a lot of touch downs. The last couple of games Kent has gone to Nathan has been the quarter back and down well at that also, the regular quarterback has got hurt and couldn't play. I don't know if that is such a good position to play or not . LOL After to days game, Kent and I went shopping with Gary to look at a couch that another friend thinks would be good for Gary's place. After we got done with Gary, we picked up the pizza to take to Kent's daughters place to eat dinner with them tonight. Cindy baked an apple pie for dessert with ice cream. What a deal, both of our favorites in one meal and Cindy bakes the best apple pie ever. I have her recipe and I am getting pretty good at it, but hers is still the best.

Sunday 18~~~~ Today is my son Bill's 45th birthday and we celebrated it at our house with a turkey and all the fixings dinner. It was nice cooking a turkey dinner, as I never fix one for my family anymore, as we do a breakfast for my family on Thanksgiving and we do the turkey dinner with Kent's family at the beach every year and Kent does the bird, that is their tradition. I do all the chopping for his stuffing and I am the mashed potatoes and gravy maker. There were only 17 of us here, as some were out of town. I used my electric roasting pan for the first time with cooking a turkey and it sure worked out neat and so fast. After dinner, we had two tables of card players which was a lot of fun. After cards, cake and ice cream, everyone headed home about 5:30 as they all have things to do before going to work on Monday. I sure have slowed down on my cooking skills for large groups and I find I am tired when the day is done and the last family leaves for home. LOL I still like to have everyone over to our house even if it does tire me, I have plenty of time to rest up when they go home. Here is a picture of Bodie with his wrangler shirt that is so cute with his wrangler jeans. He has grown so much since last year, he was a size 7 slim and this year he is a 10 regular, how fast the kids do grow. I tell him he is my little George Strait!

Friday 9~~~~We left for home about 10:30 AM, we made good time even with stopping for lunch on the way. We left the 5Th wheel at the Elk's Club in Beaverton where it is closer for Kent to stay in when he goes to Portland for the grand children's ball games. It saves so much on gas and he has things he needs to get done in Portland. After we got the Camper and the Dish TV set up so Kent will have good TV reception, we headed for Salem. Pammy and Tress called to see if we wanted to have our "Home Again" pizza party at Pammy's house instead of at a pizza parlor, of course we said yes. They had the pizza's picked up and things were all ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Of course we had to play a game of "Hand and Foot" cards after dinner, we did our visiting over dinner and dessert. (Tress made a wonderful chocolate cake with yummy white frosting) What fun to be home again!!!! Saturday 10~~~ Kent and I were lazy this morning and we didn't get up early, we were watching TV, drinking coffee and visiting in bed when the phone rang. it was my daughter Lisa. She asked if we were up yet because she was parked out on our driveway, she had come over for morning coffee in her PJ's. She had a work party to go to last night and she missed the pizza party and seeing us, so she came for early morning coffee. I love fun things like that, drinking coffee at Mom's house in our Jammie's!!! Kent headed for Portland to watch his grand sons play ball and he will stay there for a couple of days. My 8 year old grandson Bodie stayed with me on Saturday night, we have fun playing "Wahoo" our marble game, going for long walks and staying up late together. He likes to go to church with me on Sunday and have breakfast there together. I started taking pictures of the grand kids there, and I did two and forgot to do more. (Justin and his girlfriend Jen) William and his sister Kallie) Saturday 10~~~~My son Bill and Breanna stopped by with one of their three kittens they are fostering for awhile. The feline society has cats and new born kittens you can adopt or just foster until you get tired of them or until someone adopts them. They pay for all the shots and exams or medicines and their food and litter box litter, so it is a real nice way to have a pet for awhile to help them when they are on overload at the society. You can check them out on line also. This is their second batch of kittens they have taken now and are really enjoying it. The kids bring them over so Pepsi has someone to play with while we all visit with each other. LOL

Monday 5~~~~We met our friends Lou and Diane for dinner at the Clearwater Casino near Pousbo, Washington tonight. They have a good buffet dinner there and we all like the slots they have, you can usually play on the Casino's money quite awhile. I came out only $7 ahead, but I had fun playing a couple of hours on their money. Diane and Lou live in Everette, Washington and they had to catch the ferry back home, so we didn't stay too long, we always have fun with them.
Tuesday 6~~~~We called our friends Bob and Adelle today to try and get together with them before we leave for Oregon on Thursday. They live in the town of Pousbo, Washington so we went back to the same casino to meet them for dinner. Kent and Bob used to both own business equipment companies years ago, so they always enjoy visiting and catching up on each other, while Adelle and I both love the slot machines. I had lost my allowance ($15) I spent it real fast, when I found a new machine I had never played before, I was so lucky on it, I won back my loss and I came home with some extra. Bob and Adelle wanted us to stop at their house, so we didn't stay at the casino very long. We enjoyed seeing the new addition they are adding to their home, it will be fun to see it when it is completed. We seem to have a lot of friends all over and it is so nice that we can stop and see them in our worldly travels.

Sunday 4~~~~~We decided to go to Port Townsend this morning to the "Kinetics Race", i t was sure a fun thing to do. A Kinetics race is things people build and use man power for the energy. Their was a lot of bicycle chain used for pedaling on the entries. The race has 4 legs to be completed, starting with the 1st leg in the bay, the entries have to get their entry across the bay by paddling or what ever way they can get their float to move. (some used big plastic jugs tied together). The theme was "Alice in Wonderland" and they were all dressed like the characters in the show. They all received a small pink flamingo for proof they did that leg of the race. Next (#2) they all lined up on main street and raced to see who could run the rest of the race the fastest, the hill they had to climb or drive was very steep and it was fun to see how hard they worked to get to the top of the hill and go the the next leg of the race (#3) which was a sandy beach they had to pedal or get through with their hand made mode of transportation. The 4th was the last leg of the race and the most fun to watch of all, they had two long trenches all dug out and filled with water that they had to get their entry across. The guy that did the watering, must have fell asleep doing it, as their was so much mud and water, the men sunk up to their waists in it trying to get their entry across it to the end. Of course by the time 3 or4 floats plowed through or tried to and had to be pulled out, it was a real mess for the next person or persons. Some entries and several people on it and they had a lot more Man power to work the gears. They have this every year and we had so much fun watching it all day. Of course there was a lot of bottled cheer to make it even funnier. I would like to see something like this done at Rockaway or Keizer some time for one of the holiday festivals where they want to draw a crowd and bring some money in to the area and fun for the locals. There were two Oregon entries in the race, one from Eugene and one from Independence. Kent had a lot of fun helping the ladies load their entry onto their trailer that they brought it to town on. (top picture) The picture of the "Octobus" won 1st. place and they were one of three who made it all the way through the mud trench. They had about 6 people pedaling their float through that muddy water.

Friday 2~~~~ We woke up this morning to sounds of cars getting in line at the ferry. We got up and took our showers and got dressed as any normal day. We walked across the street to a coffee shop for our morning coffee. Kent wandered around the ferry area and I sat in the trailer and read my book until it was time to load onto the ferry, I met a couple there who asked if we were the ones in the big trailer. They said they parked their camper (class C) elsewhere and drove to the ferry real early to get in line, they said they never thought of spending the night there and what a good idea it was. It was an hour and a half ride across on the ferry, so we played one hand of the hand and foot card game. Then Kent like a little boy was off and exploring the ferry, I returned to the book I was reading and to visiting with some people who were heading south for the winter. We stopped for lunch after we got off the ferry and we went to at a Casino where we played the slots for awhile before heading to our campground where we will stay for a week. Saturday 3~~~~ We drove to Port Townsend today to see the town, it is one that we both like the quaint shops. We went to Mass here this evening and then we scoped out the town for the best pizza parlor, we poll a lot of people to find which one is supposed to be the best. We chose a real small one that is a take out only, they have a restaurant upstairs that they make pizza for also. The waitress's come down to pick it up and take it upstairs to the customers. They were so busy, but we enjoyed the three young men hand tossing the pizza's and the fun they seemed to have while working and the pizza was well worth the wait. We took it home and watched a movie while we ate dinner. We saw a flier about some races that are going on there tomorrow, so we will probably come back for them.

Thursday Oct. 1~~~~We left Salmon Point Campground heading for Victoria, BC about 10:30 AM We have plenty of time to arrive there, as we aren't taking the ferry today. We are spending the night in line for the first ferry leaving tomorrow morning at 10:30 AM. If we would ride there in the morning, we would have to get up at 4:00AM again, and we don't want to do that, if we took a later ferry, we would get to Port Angeles, Washington, late at night with no place to stay. It worked out real good getting there at 4:00 PM and getting in line for the first ferry leaving in the morning. They told us to open our slides and make ourselves at home, which we did (picture) Kent even started the generator and we watched all our favorite shows on TV after we walked all over Victoria stopping for a nice dinner in the marina(picture). Of course we had to go to the "Empress Hotel"(picture) and walk through it. The evening was so beautiful with the lights shining on the water and the people were so friendly, we enjoyed our long walk around Victoria (pictures) before retiring to our home on wheels.
