February 22 through 26, 2010

Monday 22~~~~Here are a few pictures of Laughlin, Nevada at night taken by Kent. We are trying to learn how to use our new camera. The sunrise was so beautiful on this morning, I tried to capture the sun behind the clouds; by the time I got the camera out and the lens on, the beautiful streaks of sunlight were gone and all I got was the sun behind the clouds. Darn! We moved our camp to the Avi Campground this morning where we will stay until Thursday. We did laundry and cleaned house today. I still don't feel very good and I don't have the energy to write emails to anyone. We can't decide where we are headed. We can't get into the campground at Apache Junction where Mel and Linda are yet, so I think we are heading into Yuma for a couple of weeks. We love the Escapee's campground in Yuma, AZ. The people are so friendly, they play a lot of cards, have an ice cream social every Sunday evening and Saturday morning breakfast. They have the largest shuffle board here and I really want to learn how to play it good!!! Tuesday 23~~~~ I got a haircut today and it is the shortest I have ever had it, I feel like a skinned peanut, but it grows so fast, it will be fine. The operator had so many tattoos and rings in her nose, that if she hadn't been recommended to me by a lady with a cute haircut, I would have been terrified of her. Kent loves it, but it will have to grow a little for me to be comfortable with it. LOL (picture) Thursday 25~~~~~This morning we went over to the Casino for a late breakfast before we head for Yuma, this way we won't have pack a lunch. They showed us our table and we headed to the buffet. Kent always likes their special omelets, so I had my plate filled first and I headed back to our table. Last week in Laughlin, the restaurants buffet room was so big. I couldn't find my way back to our table and after wandering around for awhile, I called Kent on my phone to find me. ha We discussed how it must feel to have Alzheimer's and be that confused everyday. Well this morning as I sat at our table waiting for Kent to get his omelet and join me, a couple stopped at our table and stood there looking at me. I asked them what they wanted; they said I was sitting at their table. I instantly thought I must be lost again and now I sat at someone else's table and where was Kent????? Now I was sure I had Alzheimer's, the lady was sort of upset, but her husband was very nice and he said they would just find another table. I was beginning to think maybe that was why Kent was taking so long to get an omelet, he was probably at another table waiting for me. Just then the people at the table next to me spoke up and told the couple that we were seated there first and right after we left to go fill our plates, another host gave them the same table and I had it first. I was so happy I could have kissed them, I was OK, I wasn't lost with Alzheimer's after all. Just then Kent showed up and all was fine, the breakfast was great, we thanked the couple for speaking up and getting involved, a lot of people wouldn't have done it. We left for Yuma stopping in Quartzite to visit some high school friends of mine (Donnie & Velda Zingler) who are boon docking there for 2 weeks. We have been trying to catch up with each other for some time and what a great visit we had. Velda said our jaws should be hurting from talking so fast trying to catch up on all these years apart. We will be together again next week doing some sight seeing. Friday 26~~~~The weather here in Yuma is 78 and that is perfect for us. Yesterday I sat outside in the sun reading my book while Kent dozed in his chair and I fell asleep reading my book. The sun sure feels good for my cold and cough. Pepsi loves having the door open to sit and look outside. (picture) My sister called me last night with a good over the counter cough syrup to buy that she hopes will help me get better.
