March 27 through the 31, 2010

Saturday 27~~~~~ We said our goodbyes to the Kessler's this morning as they headed to South Dakota. We were going back to Yuma, AZ to see our friends Cyndy and Howie and then to Palm Springs, CA. I don't understand why they would be in a rush to leave this wonderful weather to go back home to Snow!!!! We pulled into the Escapes RV Park about 4:30 PM and they had just rented out the last open space 1/2 hour before we arrived. The park has a area for 6 or 8 campers in the middle of the park to spend the night (no electricity) for the over flow guests. We will get a spot in the morning when people leave. You can use everything the park has, you just don't have electricity, water, and sewer. That is no problem as we have generators if we want to use them. Our friends Cyndy and Howie had called to say they had dinner all planned for us for tonight, so that was great to just pull in and join our friends for dinner and fun. Of course we played more cards after dinner at the club house. We played 31 a new game for us that was a lot of fun. Sunday 28~~~~~We got a space for the trailer about noon today, we didn't do much else, we played cards in the evening. Monday 29~~~~ We had Cyndi and Howie for dinner at our house tonight, we each had our own meat with Chef Kent in charge of the cooking. I made a macaroni salad and fresh steamed asparagus, that I had bought in Mexico, for side dishes and Cyndi brought huge shrimp from Mexico on skewers for the Chef to cook. We ate like Kings again tonight and we played our favorite card game Hand and Foot after dinner. The boys were really lucky tonight and they really gave us a run for our cards tonight. Cyndi and Howie will be heading for Virginia Beach to visit family and watch the Grandkids for awhile and we will go back to Oregon soon. We sure have fun together and we already look forward to seeing them next winter. Tuesday 30~~~~~I blogged most of the day today and Kent got things done that needed to be done. Wednesday~~~~The park had a potluck dinner tonight with what they call "Heavy Hordevors". The say heavy, so you bring something more than cheese and crackers or chips and dip. I made a LARGE pasta dish with pasta, sausage, cream cheese and chili with beans. Kent was sure glad I made a lot when we saw the food the other people had brought. We were talking to some people at our table when all of a sudden we looked up and all those people who brought cheese and crackers or pickles had lined up and were really loading up their plates. Poor Kent was sure my pan of pasta would all be gone when he got there. There was another hot dish that was empty when we got to the dishes but we did get one small helping of our dish. I just don't understand these people who don't bring anything and then load up on the food first. I think next time I will keep my dish in the kitchen until that group of people are through the line, then I will set out my dish for the people who bring food and don't rush to get in line first or just go with the attitude it is just a potluck and go for the social part, not the dinner. Ha (picture of Kent and Cyndi in the truck on one of our outings) The other pictures are our campsite in Yuma, we had real neat neighbors.
