Friday 26~~~~~Today is the day we celebrate Thanksgiving with Kent's daughters and their families. We left for Portland early so we could get the bird all stuffed and in the oven so we could eat at a decent time. Kent and I made the stuffing last night after we got home from Thresa's house, I do the chopping and Kent does the mixing and dumping of the ingredients. He makes his stuffing with Italian sausage and it is really good. Kent's daughter Dee Dee and her husband Tony have moved into a new home closer to where the girls go to school, we saw it right after they moved into it and Dee Dee since then has removed a lot of wall paper, painted and had new light fixtures put in, completely changing the looks of what it was when they bought it. It is so nice and roomy for entertaining for holiday dinners, I love the way she has decorated it. Cindy and Dee Dee fixed some wonderful hordevors we enjoyed eating while watching the football game and visiting waiting for the bird to cook. The turkey and stuffing was delicious as usual, Kent does a fantastic job of cooking it. Kent only has two children and 4 grandchildren, it is a real change from the houseful we have when my family of 5 children and 11 grandchildren comes over. Of course we all ate way too much, but isn't that what holidays are all about???? It really rained hard on the way home, it was nice to be dry and warm in the comfort of our own home after a busy holiday with both of our families we love so much. Now we have Christmas to look forward to.

November 24,& 25, 2010

Wednesday 24~~~~Today is a busy day getting all my baking done for our Thanksgiving breakfast at our house. Tress came over after she got off work and she fried all the bacon for breakfast so all I have to do is put it in the over on low and heat it up good. I made 4 batches of carmal rolls and I cooked the sausage for the sausage gravy and I made my croissant rolls dough so all I have to do is make and frost the rolls in the morning. Kent and I have to get up so early to do all of this to be ready for all our guests on thanksgiving morning, so this year we will have less to prepare and we can enjoy our guest more as they arrive. Everyone loves to be in the kitchen and are willing to help with last minute things that need to be done while they are nibbling on the bacon and frosted croissant's and sipping on their mimosa's (orange juice and champagne). Lisa and Tress went out for the evening to a play and Kent and I babysat Bodie and Blaize. Pammy came over after dinner and she helped set the tables for breakfast and place the scrambled name cards on the tables to mix up the eating for breakfast. There will be 22 of us and Pammy got the ugly Thanksgiving candles in her stocking last Christmas, so she is in charge of the centerpiece, we do this every year. Thursday 25~~~~Everything went so smooth this morning having prepped so much of the food yesterday. Kent fried the french toast while I baked the cresannts rolls and frosted them. Lisa brought the scrambled eggs all cracked and ready to cook and everyone took turns stirring them while others baked the bisquits for the biscuits and gravy. We are a close family and we all share in the fun in the kitchen. After breakfast we read all the ads in the papers and exchanged gift ideas with everyone for some good ideas as what to buy for some of those hard to buy people. LOL We drank more coffee and ate Carmel rolls and visited until late afternoon. For dinner, Kent and I went to Thresa's house for turkey dinner, Cory always works the swing shift and most holidays unless they fall on his regular day off so Thresa makes a nice dinner for her and the kids and who ever wants to join them. This year Cory's grandma, his dad, Bill, Maggie, Kent and I went to her house for dinner. She did a marvelous job of stuffing and cooking the turkey, Maggie made 3 delicious pies. It was a wonderful day and we certainly had enough to eat, we are very blessed. In the morning, we will drive to Portland (Camas, WA. ) for dinner with Kent's family.

Friday 19~~~~Today is probably the most exciting day for Kent ever, he got his "DROID X". He is like a little boy over a new toy, every 5 minutes he asks me, "did I ever tell you how much I like my Droid"? Then he calls his girls and his friends and asks them the same thing. I don't think Kent will ever get to old to enjoy the latest technology in electronics and I think that is neat. Blaize spent the night with us last night and she went along for the purchase of the phone, that was almost too long for a five year old to sit through. We rewarded her with a trip to McDonald's on the way home for being a good girl. Tonight we went to Pizza in Sherwood with the wedding party after the rehearsal at the church. It was a lot of fun and there were so many pizza's we couldn't eat them all, a lot of people took home pizza. After the pizza party Kent and I drove over to Williams apartment where I gave William and one of the ushers haircuts.
Sunday 21~~~~ Today is the exciting day my grandson William is getting married, it has rained all day but that won't put a cloud over the fun we will have. The wedding was at 4 PM Sunday, they met on this day two years ago, that is why it was on a Sunday, it was really raining when we arrived at the church, the men were dropping off the ladies at the door and parking the cars, times like this it is nice to be a lady. The bride was beautiful and the groom looked so proud as he waited for her to come down the aisle. Most of the pictures were taken before the wedding except the ones with the bride and groom together, Savannah didn't want William to see her before the wedding They had a lovely reception at the church and they showed a neat video of pictures of William and his bride Savannah growing up from babies to the present time. A buffet was catered with so many different salads, dips and sandwiches with tables for everyone to sit at or mingle with everyone. The Bride and Groom danced the first dance and then a few more dances which were fun to watch. My grand daughters Shelby and Breanna came and asked their Grandpa Luke and Kent to dance, just as they got to the dance floor the music stopped. That would have been fun to have watched, they didn't play anymore music after that. Darn!! After the Bride and Groom left for their honeymoon, we all helped fold up the tables and chairs and we headed home in a real downpour. I was glad I wasn't driving as the rain was coming down so hard the wipers had a hard time carrying the water. Our next wedding (Justin and Jen) will be in July, so all you people in Nebraska and South Dakota start planning a trip out here for it.

Thursday 11~~~~Yesterday I spent the day home, doing laundry and coloring my hair. Kent spent the day in Portland, He had lunch with his daughter Cindy and they had him over for dinner after work. I went over to Tress house where we made home made pizza's for dinner that evening. Today my grand daughter Shelby came over early to visit with Kent and to give me a ride to my grandsons bridal shower that is in Sherwood, Oregon. Shelby got a new car ( new to her) and she is all excited about driving it some where. The shower was very nice and we got to meet the family of the bride who will be marrying my grandson William on November 21. This will be a busy month with the wedding, showers and Thanksgiving all with in a few weeks. I am so happy to be home to par take in all of the excitement. Then we will swing into Christmas shopping and baking and getting together for visits and fun. Kent and I are going to the beach tomorrow to spend the week end there with his daughter and husband Cindy and Erik. That will be very relaxing and fun and maybe Kent and Erik will go out and get some crab for us to eat. Yum Yum!!!!!

Friday 5~~~~ We arrived at "Seven Feather's Casino and RV Park this afternoon. After we set up camp and hooked up the TV Dish, we went over to the Casino for dinner and a couple of hours on the slots. They had a Keno tournament that Kent wanted to play in, so we stopped and registered him for it before we set up camp. Kent didn't place in the tournament, but he won back most of the entry fee and wound up $15 behind. I played the $12.50 that they gave us for our truck fuel and camp ground receipts for quite awhile. I am still so tired from the high fever and asthma attack, I didn't feel like staying there very long. We are leaving for home(Salem) in the morning. It feels good to be in Oregon close to home. Saturday 6~~~~ We left the camp ground about 10:30 AM, stopping for lunch on our way to Eugene, Oregon. We drove out to Kim and Mikes place to see them on our way through. We wound up spending the night with them, leaving for Salem on Sunday afternoon. Kim made a wonderful dinner of chicken enchiladas for us Saturday night. Sunday 7~~~~By the time we dropped off the 5th wheel at the Elk's club in Keizer, it was getting dusk before we got home. Kent ran out to Costco to pick up some batteries for his hearing aids and he brought home a large pizza for us for dinner. Thresa and the two kids were at an afternoon movie, and they stopped and ate pizza with us on their way home. It sure is nice to be home again, Pepsi was even happy to be home, he ran all over the house from window to window about tipping over his cat perch jumping on it so hard while running so fast.

Wednesday 3~~~~W drove to Reno today and I read Kent our book of the White House all the way. We drove 465 mi;es yesterday and Kent was pretty tired when we pulled into camp after dark and set up. We had a nice dinner at Mc Donald's with our free coupons from the Monopoly game that just ended. We really tried to win the big prize and didn't, but we did get a $5 gift certificate at Walmart, 3 months subscription to POGO, 6 medium fries, Angus burger and an Angus wrap. Everyone knows how much Kent loves those Frappe chino's and that is how we got started with the game. We will be here fora couple of nights, leaving on Friday. We won $50 in Vegas on the slots and we went to two movies there. "Wall Street" and "Red". Both movies were great and I recommend both of them. Kent did good with Keno the last days in Laughlin. He was in two tournaments and did good, I played the slots and one day stayed home as I was tired of slots. Can you believe that I said that.

I forgot to write when we went to the four corners of the United States. It is one of those places you must stop at and take silly pictures and look around at the beauty of our wonderful country we live in. We don't have to travel to foreign countries as we have it all in our own back yards. The Indians charge a small fee to enter and they also have food and drinks in a tent or something. It was a fun place to stop and be silly taking puctures.

Saturday 30~~~~~We left Mesquite this morning heading for Vegas, I am still not feeling very good after my session with the chills last night after the Golf Long Drive we went to. All of a sudden I got so cold I was shaking so hard I couldn't stop. Kent bought me a Star Bucks latte and some fish and chips and took me home. By then I was really cold, he turned the furnace on 85 and plugged in a little heater beside my chair to blow on me. I put on my warm fuzzy robe and covered myself up with 2 blankets and still I shook. I gave up and went to bed under the down quilt plus a blanket and the furnace still running and fell asleep. I slept all night with all of that on me until 4:30 AM before the chills went away. I felt pretty good this morning after we stopped and ate a wonderful breakfast at the Casablanca Casino on the way out of town. We arrived in Vegas about 2 PM and I still feel good. We went out for Pizza this evening and the chills came back before we got home and it was the same thing all over again, only this time I immediately went to bed to get warm. If those chills come back again tonight, I am going to go to urgent care in the morning.
Sunday 31~~~~ Happy Halloween!!!! Lots of fun things to do at the casino where we are parked, but we won't be doing anything as I am not feeling very good again. The chills came back again last night. I stayed in bed most of the day. At 3:00 Kent said get dressed we are gong to urgent care. I was so nice and warm in my bed I didn't want to get up, but I did. We went to Urgent Care and they listed to our story and gave me a prescription of Antibiotics for my Bronchitis. We were home for one hour when the chills were back, Kent kept bringing me water and checking my temperature, within an hour my fever was 104.6. Kent rushed me to the hospital and when he told them how high my fever was they took me right in. They took my temp. and put the thing on my finger for my pulse and immediately ordered a CT scan as they were worried what might be going on with my heart. Next I went right to X-ray and to labs. They then started an IV (2 qt.) and hooked me up to a blood pressure machine where I stayed until midnight when they felt my fever was OK and my breathing was under control. They gave me prednisone and the misting nebulizer, that really helped my breathing. I will follow up with my Dr. at home next week. Kent was telling the Dr. about the things I was saying he couldn't understand and the Dr. said I was delirious with the fever so high, I remember some of it, and I think I was just plain crazy!!!! LOL I had on my long black and white polka dot night gown with my lavender lounging pants under it and my lavender top over the top of it. I think I looked like I was wearing my Halloween costume and had too many to drink. Monday Nov. 1~~~~ I feel a whole lot better this morning and DR. Kent is in charge of my pills and water intake. He was so good with all that went down all week. When he saw my fever so high in such a short time, he said it really scared him, but he is such a calm, collected, organized person, he drove me to the hospital , remember we are in Vegas and to find hospital is no easy chore. Organized Kent looked up the hospital when I first went to bed in case we needed it and he called the Dr. to see when and if we should go. When he took the last reading and saw how high it had spiked, he knew it was time and where to go. Kent is my Hero. Monday 1~~~~ I feel like a new person this morning and I will continue to get better with my prescriptions. I really felt like I was standing at St. Peter's gate last nite when I couldn't breathe and was so hot. I was never sick when I worked, I can see why so many old people work, it keeps them healthy. Maybe I need a job?
