April 19 through 21

Tuesday 19~~~~~Kent and I drove to the beach house to spend a few days, we stopped and had lunch at the Spirit Mountain Casino on our way . We started the fireplace and opened up all the curtains so we could enjoy watching the ocean. I love the ocean in the winter the best, as I love the way the waves come crashing in. The big log is still out in front of the house on the beach and a lot of sand is piling around it, we were hoping a winter storm would carry it back out to sea, but that didn't happen. We went over to Nehalem to our favorite tavern whee she has the coldest beer and the best chicken and Jo's to eat. We put $5 in the slot machine there and we won $20 on our way out the door to head home. That was fun and seeing our friend Susie who owns the tavern is always nice. Wednesday 20~~~~We didn't do much today, Kent was up on the roof fixing the wind gauge and I was on the deck helping him turn the pipe. After lunch we drove to Cape Mears, I took some pictures of all the drift wood along the shore there. I would sure like to get some to take home for my yard; but we had my car and not the truck. When we got home, we watched TV and and the ocean waves and I fixed us dinner. Cindy and Dee Dee started a puzzle the last time they were at the beach house and didn't get it finished. Every time I tried to work on the puzzle to finish it, Pepsi would get on top of it and lay down, so I didn't get much more of it done. He always does that when I try to do anything, when I was writing my kids book last year, he layed on my books when I was writing and if I am on the computer, he walks back and forth across the keyboard. We are going home tomorrow afternoon. Thursday 21~~~~~The huge log is still in front of our house on the beach and the winter storms at sea, have brought in so much sand, (pictures) it is bringing the beach and its sand up on the rocks and the log is getting covered with the sand. It will take a real strong tide to carry the sand and the log back out to sea. Monday April 25~~~~~ The city was here this morning to trim the huge tree in my neighbors yard. The branches knocked out the power for some people in the neighborhood, I was hoping they would trim off a lot of them as I get so tired of all the pine cones and branches I get in my yard all the time. I went out and tried to get them to trim more, but no luck, so I took a few pictures is them doing it.

Thursday 7~~~~~~~We got up early for an early start to Eugene, Oregon, we have an appointment with an RV Glass shop who was going to look at our windows on our trailer that the seal has come loose on and they have gotten foggy. We got there on time and they decided it was too big a job for them to do, so we got back on the freeway and headed to Salem. We parked the camper at the Elk's Club and after we got it set up, we unloaded the refrigerator and packed a few clothes to take to the house. I called the kids and we made plans to go out for pizza at 6PM. We do this every trip when we get home from down south. Pam and Jeff had already made other plans and Jean Marie had invited the twins, Shelby and Pamela over to her house for dinner, so we only had Lisa, Gene, Ray, Thresa, Bodie, Blaize, Billy, Kallie, Kent and I. Actually we could visit easier with not so many, but we always look forward to all of us being there. Saturday 9~~~~I invited everyone over to our place tonight for hordevores and cards, Pamela has been staying here for a few days, so we had a good bye party for her. We use any excuse we can think of to get together and play cards and eat. LOL Everyone brought their favorite dish or snack and I baked a cake to eat with ice cream. We had a lot of fun playing "Nert's", we let Pamela pick what card game she wanted to play and that is what she choose. Jan, do you remember playing that game years ago in South Dakota when we all got together?????
Sunday 10~~~~~ Kim drove up from Eugene to pick up Pamela and she stayed a couple of days with us and we enjoyed that immensely. We don't get to see much of Kim like we do the other kids living here in town. We also have my grandson Justin's kitty"Sookee" staying at our house, she and Pepsi have so much fun chasing each other all night. When we get up in the morning, the carpet has so much white Pepsi hair all over, it looks like snowballs on the carpet. Then the cats sleep all day, they are so tired from catting around all night.

Friday 1~~~~~~We left for Vegas this morning, arriving there early afternoon, it was really warm there, as soon as I was done helping Kent set up the trailer and the direct TV, I put on my swim suit and headed over to the pool. The water was so nice and after a few trips back and forth across the pool, I got out and read my book. Kent came over and joined me after he got off the phone. I fixed us spaghetti for dinner and we played the slots a little after dinner, winning $70. We spent two nights here. Sunday 3~~~~We left this morning for Reno, Nevada heading for home. Kent is concerned about there being snow going this route home, so we won't be in Reno very long. The weather was so nice in Vegas, I had shorts on and when we stopped for gas, Kent said I had better get out and stretch my legs as we had a long ride ahead of us. I was shocked how cold it was when I got out of the truck, the sun was shining so bright and it was soooooooooooo cold. It was a long drive, we pulled into Reno rather late and the campground we pulled into was $48 a night, we decided to go to the Pepper Mill Casino and boon dock for the night in their parking lot for free. We parked the trailer by another camper and there was a security guard riding around on his bike and he said he will be going around regular, so we have a nice safe place to spend the night. The casino was very nice and so pretty, we ate dinner in one of the many restaurants and then we played the slots for four hours before going back to our home on wheels for the night. It was very cold when we got outside, what a difference from just a couple hundred miles down the road to where we were last night. We had so much fun at this casino, we hated to quit playing. We don't usually win, we just play for several hours and leave with what we started with or maybe 10 t0 20 dollars less. We won another $40, the machines were new ones we hadn't played on before, they were a lot more fun. I told Kent we must stop here every trip south from now on. I do not like Vegas, too much walking to all the casinos and no place to park, this is my way of gambling. We are leaving in the morning for Seven Feathers Casino in Oregon. It is one of my favorite campgrounds to stay at, not my favorite casino though. We always donate there it seems like. Monday 4~~~~There is snow all over where we are driving this morning, I called one of my clients that I used to do her hair to see if we could stop and see then when we were near Susanville. She now lives in San Diego and her husband passed away 10 days ago, it was a sad call, but we had a great visit and I was glad I called her. We have a long drive today to reach Canyonville, Oregon so we got up early for an early start. Kent went to fill the truck with diesel and when he got back, he said that our friend Gary was one hundred miles behind us, heading to Oregon and when Kent told him about how nice the casino was, he wanted us to spend another night here and we could leave for Oregon tomorrow morning. We almost did it, but Kent got on the computer and checked the weather and he didn't like the rain that was coming that could easily turn into snow. We decided to leave and meet Gary in Canyonville tomorrow. Of course we ran into rain as soon as we got into Oregon and Kent was not happy to see it. Of course with me liking the rain, I had to tease him and tell him that Arizona and Nevada might have all the sun, but Oregon has the most beautiful daffodils in the ditches of our freeways, great big bunches that are so pretty. We pulled into the campground about 4PM, it was cold and rainy, when we set up the trailer. We went down to the casino on the shuttle and had dinner, our " Lady Luck" stayed in Nevada, and we wound up loosing $50 there. We are staying here until Thursday morning when we will head to Eugene where we are having a glass shop there do some work on our trailers windows that are double paned and the seal has broken and they are getting cloudy. From there on to Salem and Portland to see our kids. Yea!!!!!!!!!! Tuesday 5~~~ Gary arrived here this morning and we went over to the casino and I lost another $20 and Kent probably the same, I had a roast cooking in the crock pot and it sure was good. It is so cold here, I am not sure I like the rain anymore. LOL. Wednesday 6~~~Kent fixed us waffles for breakfast this morning and the 3 of us went over to the casino so Gary could collect on some Keno tickets he bought yesterday. Gary left for Portland and Kent and I came home to do laundry and catch up the blog. I only lost $10 today and Kent $15. We are leaving in the morning for Eugene.

Tuesday 29 through Thursday 31~~~~We drove from Yuma, AZ. to Laughlin, NV. this morning, it was windy in Yuma as usual, and very warm when we arrived in Laughlin. We are parked on the top tier of the campground at the Riverside. We have a beautiful view of the casinos at night with all their bright lights. Our luck on slots has continued and we added another $100 to our gambling fund to spend when we get to Reno. We are here for three nights, leaving for Reno on Friday. I called my friend Tiny and never heard from her, Darn!! The weather here is so warm, we love it. We don't sit outside and suntan all day like most people, we try to take care of our skin. I love the mountains all over down south, my pictures never capture the real beauty of them.
