April 1 through 6, 2011

Friday 1~~~~~~We left for Vegas this morning, arriving there early afternoon, it was really warm there, as soon as I was done helping Kent set up the trailer and the direct TV, I put on my swim suit and headed over to the pool. The water was so nice and after a few trips back and forth across the pool, I got out and read my book. Kent came over and joined me after he got off the phone. I fixed us spaghetti for dinner and we played the slots a little after dinner, winning $70. We spent two nights here. Sunday 3~~~~We left this morning for Reno, Nevada heading for home. Kent is concerned about there being snow going this route home, so we won't be in Reno very long. The weather was so nice in Vegas, I had shorts on and when we stopped for gas, Kent said I had better get out and stretch my legs as we had a long ride ahead of us. I was shocked how cold it was when I got out of the truck, the sun was shining so bright and it was soooooooooooo cold. It was a long drive, we pulled into Reno rather late and the campground we pulled into was $48 a night, we decided to go to the Pepper Mill Casino and boon dock for the night in their parking lot for free. We parked the trailer by another camper and there was a security guard riding around on his bike and he said he will be going around regular, so we have a nice safe place to spend the night. The casino was very nice and so pretty, we ate dinner in one of the many restaurants and then we played the slots for four hours before going back to our home on wheels for the night. It was very cold when we got outside, what a difference from just a couple hundred miles down the road to where we were last night. We had so much fun at this casino, we hated to quit playing. We don't usually win, we just play for several hours and leave with what we started with or maybe 10 t0 20 dollars less. We won another $40, the machines were new ones we hadn't played on before, they were a lot more fun. I told Kent we must stop here every trip south from now on. I do not like Vegas, too much walking to all the casinos and no place to park, this is my way of gambling. We are leaving in the morning for Seven Feathers Casino in Oregon. It is one of my favorite campgrounds to stay at, not my favorite casino though. We always donate there it seems like. Monday 4~~~~There is snow all over where we are driving this morning, I called one of my clients that I used to do her hair to see if we could stop and see then when we were near Susanville. She now lives in San Diego and her husband passed away 10 days ago, it was a sad call, but we had a great visit and I was glad I called her. We have a long drive today to reach Canyonville, Oregon so we got up early for an early start. Kent went to fill the truck with diesel and when he got back, he said that our friend Gary was one hundred miles behind us, heading to Oregon and when Kent told him about how nice the casino was, he wanted us to spend another night here and we could leave for Oregon tomorrow morning. We almost did it, but Kent got on the computer and checked the weather and he didn't like the rain that was coming that could easily turn into snow. We decided to leave and meet Gary in Canyonville tomorrow. Of course we ran into rain as soon as we got into Oregon and Kent was not happy to see it. Of course with me liking the rain, I had to tease him and tell him that Arizona and Nevada might have all the sun, but Oregon has the most beautiful daffodils in the ditches of our freeways, great big bunches that are so pretty. We pulled into the campground about 4PM, it was cold and rainy, when we set up the trailer. We went down to the casino on the shuttle and had dinner, our " Lady Luck" stayed in Nevada, and we wound up loosing $50 there. We are staying here until Thursday morning when we will head to Eugene where we are having a glass shop there do some work on our trailers windows that are double paned and the seal has broken and they are getting cloudy. From there on to Salem and Portland to see our kids. Yea!!!!!!!!!! Tuesday 5~~~ Gary arrived here this morning and we went over to the casino and I lost another $20 and Kent probably the same, I had a roast cooking in the crock pot and it sure was good. It is so cold here, I am not sure I like the rain anymore. LOL. Wednesday 6~~~Kent fixed us waffles for breakfast this morning and the 3 of us went over to the casino so Gary could collect on some Keno tickets he bought yesterday. Gary left for Portland and Kent and I came home to do laundry and catch up the blog. I only lost $10 today and Kent $15. We are leaving in the morning for Eugene.
