Sunday 26~~~~~Today was the bridal shower for my grandson Justin's fiance Jen in Salem. It is getting close to the wedding day and we are all excited and ready for big event. The brides mother is putting on the shower for her daughter who lives in Florida who is the Matron of Honor. The party is being held at Pammy's house because she has so much room and the brides family is all from out of state. Jen's mother Anne is a natural at decorating and creating beautiful settings for this sort of thing. She decorated the desert table with a center piece made like a three tiered wedding cake, she rolled bath towels and stood them on end in a circle with a heavy wall of beautiful foil gift paper around it. The second tier was hand towels rolled and stood up in the same paper. The top tier was wash cloths rolled and stood on end in another circle of foil paper, she covered the towels with silk flowers and on the top tire, she had more flowers and a cake top. It was so beautiful, I hated to see it taken apart after the shower, it looked just like a real cake. She made large lolly pops from a cake mix baked and crumbled and frosting mixed in it and shaped into large lolly pops that were covered with sheets of a candy ( pink & white) coating wrapped around the pops. She put long candy stems in then and stood them up in a large piece of Styrofoam cover with pretty paper. She also had very large frosted pink heart sugar cookies and small pink boxes filled with yummy candy for each to take home. There was a food table with veggies and dip. cream puff sandwiches, hummus and crackers, chips and dip and cold cuts. We played some fun wedding games that I hadn't played before and then we divided into three teams and each team was given 4 rolls of toilet paper and we had to pick someone to be the bride in each group and the ream made a wedding dress on the model out of the rolls of toilet paper. That was a lot of fun, and Jen and her team won for the best looking wedding dress. I was the model on our team, we all had fun playing this game. Then the bride opened her many beautiful gifts and we visited and ate more dessert and I headed home to the park. What a fun day!!! This takes me back a few years when my girls had their bridal showers and my Mom was there and I was the mother of the bride.

Wednesday 22~~~~~ Today is Lisa's birthday!!! Happy Birthday Lisa!!! Today Tress brought Bodie up to the park to spend a few days with us. One of the host couples has their grandson staying here this week, he and Bodie really had fun last year playing together at the park, so we planned for them to be here at the same time this year. Bodie is a real good little helper for me cleaning sites, he likes to scoop out the fire pits while I do the raking. He found a large snail in the wood pile on a piece of wood (picture) We gathered some rocks for rock painting, we had a couple of other kids join our painting class and we had fun painting pictures on rocks today. (pictures) Thursday 23~~~~Today Bodie went swimming with his friend Will at the new water Aquarium at the Air Museum at McMinnville where Howard Hughes plane the "Spruce Goose" is on display. They spent the whole day there and really had fun. The Santiam River runs along the park and Bodie had a lot of fun playing in the water, moving rocks and gathering snails and catching tiny fish in the water with a small net we bought in town. The park had a potluck for all the hosts tonight and we had so much good food. I took Aunt Bunnies carrot cake that everyone in the park likes so much.

Wednesday 15~~~~~I had physical therapy on my right leg again this morning early and I spent the rest of the day with Bodie and Blaize, we went to Mc Donalds where they ate and played on the tubes with all the other kids. One of the kids had a birthday, so they shared their (store bought) cup cakes and party hats with Bodie and Blaize. They had a lot of fun playing while I read my book. Next we went over to my house and we went for a very long walk all over my neighborhood. Tress came over after work and rested while we walked for an hour. After our walk, we came home and had tea and a snack and they went home and I got ready to go to my grandson Ray's 8th grade graduation from Blanchet School. (pictures) That was very nice and they had cake and coffee afterwards for everyone. More cake that I can't seem to resist, no wonder I stay fat, I have no will power!!! LOL Ray made the honor roll, which made grandma very proud. After we took some pictures of Ray (Baby and now) with his two grandmas and with his parents, it was time to head back to the park for another weeks work. Kent went to Nathans graduation in Portland and I went to Ray's graduation in Salem.

Saturday 11~~~~~ Kent worked in the office for a couple of hours before we left for Portland to attend Kent's grandson Brandon's high school graduation at Central Catholic High School. It was the first Catholic High School graduation I have ever attended and it There were in his class, they had so many scholarships and rewards for how active the students are with their religion and church oriented. It was very interesting. After the ceremony, we all went over to Cindy and Erik's house where they had a lovely party in their back yard. Cindy made lots of hordevors and drinks we enjoyed while we visited and took lots of pictures. Erik grilled burgers later in the afternoon to go with with some yummy salads and cake Cindy made. We had a great time as usual and it was late when we got back to the park. ( pictures of Kent's two grandsons, Kent's two Grand daughters and his two daughters) Next week is Nathan and Ray's graduation from grade school. Nate goes to Madeline Catholic school in Portland and Ray goes to Blanchet Catholic School in Salem. Monday 13~~~~Today I baked Aunt Bunnies famous carrot cake with cream cheese frosting at the park for one of the rangers who says it is his favorite cake, I made another one for the park and Kent and I drove all over the park with plates and forks serving cake to all the hosts and park workers. I drove into Salem and visited Lisa tonight. June 14~~~~~ Kent drove to Portland for a Dr's appointment and he stayed there to attend his grandson Nathan's graduation tonight. I spent the day helping color Shelby's hair, She has been coloring it herself and now she wants it lighter, so both of her grandmas who are stylists spent the afternoon trying to correct the color for her. It was fun getting my hands in hair again!!!!

Monday 6~~~~I only had 4 sites to clean this morning, piece of cake!!!!!!It is raining again this morning, so I cleaned all the Humming bird feeders and mixed up more sugar water for them. One of my feeders didn't have any flowers painted on the glass, so I got out the paint and brushes and I painted bright red flowers all over the glass feeder. I never colored as a child, so this was a major project making all those red daisies with yellow centers and green leaves. I think I did a very good job, if I say so myself. LOL After lunch I finished the four bulletin boards we have at the park bathrooms with all the activities and news tacked on. I pulled out about 50 staples and filled a lot of holes in them before painting them. They sure look nice and they are a lot more attractive to look at. Tuesday 7~~~~Today we are in town again for our days off. Kent went to Portland and I went shopping with Tress for our presents for Justin and Jen's wedding and her bridal shower.
Wednesday ~~~~~Kent to Portland again and I stayed home and I painted our bathroom. I think my paint is a little too dark, and I will have to repaint it next week. It sounds like I am really in a painting mode doesn't it??? Kent went back to the park early after he got home from Portland, I went over to Thresa's house to bake banana bread while we visited. I had a lot of bananas as that were ripe, and we love banana bread. Tress lives in the direction of where I go to the park, so it was on my way and rather than sitting home alone while my bread baked, I did it at her house and we shared the bread. What fun, MZ. Blaize helped me bake the bread!! She and Bodie bake a lot with their mommie and Nonnie.

Saturday 4~~~~I drove into Salem this morning after I cleaned the sites that were empty to visit the family of one of my favorite hair clients who passed away, they wanted to give me something of hers, as they are busy emptying the house to sell it. She gave me one of the miniature rooms full of furniture that Gladys had built and decorated. Gladys was a very gifted lady with so many talents and she had several miniature houses full of furniture, plus china painting and many more talented things. Gladys and I spent a lot of time together on my days off work, she loved to go out and eat and we always had fun together. Tress and the kids came up to the park and went out for pizza with us after Mass tonight, the kids played in the park (pictures) after dinner, when it was dark, we went to the kids campfire singalong. After the music there was a campfire skit and all the little ones who might be afraid of Big Foot (pictures) leave with their parents, so Tress took Blaize to the trailer. Bodie stayed and he and I were the screamers out in the forest where Big Foot was roaming around. Bodie had a ball hiding in the bushes with me and doing blood curdling screams when people in the play were looking for their missing dogs. After the play, we went back to the trailer and ate the brownies that Bodie baked for us and then they went home. Sunday 6~~~~Kent worked in the office this morning and I had 17 sites to clean. Last year they gave me the host Larry to help me with so many sites, but not this year, he is in a different part of the park. I was getting pretty cranky by the time I got done when Kent got off work. I had all but 4 of them done, so I fixed Kent lunch and we finished the last four sites together. Tomorrow there won't be very many to clean because they all left today. LOL

Tuesday 31~~~Today is our day off, and we both wanted to sleep in, but I had a Dr appointment in Salem, so we had to get up and go to that. I had my yearly check up and everything checked out good, I think my job at the park is good for me in getting my exercise done daily. I have even been walking for one half hour every night after dinner. The park is so beautiful with all the trees, birds and the nice trails to walk on. I haven't lost any weight yet, ( 1 #) but my jeans are getting baggy in the butt. LOL Kent has his frappacino at least every other day and doesn't gain an ounce.
Wednesday June 1~~~~Kent and I drove to Eugene to visit Kim on her day off. We picked up lunch in town and took it out there to eat. Kim and I got on the computer on face book and we looked up all her old class mates from Pierre, So. Dakota. It was really fun to see what those kids who spent so much time at our house looked like and what they are doing now. Kim is new to face book, and she has heard back from some of them already. We left there about 4:00 and headed for home to go to the park for another week of park hosts!!! We sure seem to keep busy! I think Kent's motto is to "Keep Busy" and old age won't catch you.
