August 3 and 4, 2016 Nashville, Tennessee

Wednesday  August 3, 2016   Today we went into Nashville and we went back to a bar called "Tootsies Bar,"  that we ate lunch in yesterday and listened to the best country singers  have heard here, The bar has three stories and has
singing and playing on all three floors. We were eating on the second floor when Linda and I both heard the most beautiful female country singer voice. We were done eating, so we went down the stairs to the first floor and there she was standing on the bar singing away. The band was real good too, but we couldn't find a place to sit, so we stood on the stairs where we could see and hear her. There was a band and 2 other male singers on this floor. We left there and went to another place off the strip across town we had heard about. It was a place where song writers go and play and sing their music they wrote or  just sing their song with someone accompany them. We arrived there early to get seats and they started pouring in. I never saw so many guitars and musical instruments sitting by the song writers waiting their turn to sing or play their music. Each person gets to sing or play two songs. There were still people coming in with their instruments when we left at 9:30. We only heard 6 people do their thing in all that time, so I don't know how the rest of them ever got their turn. They goofed around a lot and wasted time getting the singers ready. I wouldn't do that, only once if that. It is nice for these people to have an audience to hear their songs be judged and heard  and I guess there is scouts there looking for talent sometimes.
Thursday August 4, 2016    We went back to Tootsies Bar again to hear that girl sing again. It was packed full again, I don't know how they get by with the fire marshals  with so many people blocking the way in or out.We went to the back of the room and there was a table for 6 with 2 people sitting there. We asked if we could join them and they said yes. The head singer and guitar player in the band sang forever and the girl we wanted to hear only sang one song, so we left.
We had made plans to go to a "Route 66" Musical Comedy this afternoon, so we didn't mind leaving the bar. The musical was a luncheon where they sold lunches or you could bring a sack lunch. We stopped at Subway for our lunch. They provided coffee, tea, lemonade or water for you. The tables were all so pretty and you saw all kinds of food brought in. We had wonderful seats and the Male  singers were fantastic. It  was all music of the 50's or 60s (not sure) Deadmans Curve,  I get Around,  Little old lady from Pasadena,  Girl on the Billboard and many many more. I think there was 35 songs they sang while acting the words. It was a 2 hour comedy with a short intermission. If you ever get a chance to go to a "Route 66 Musical" Go, it is so neat. We enjoyed it so much and if we were here longer, I would go to it again.
