Friday August 12, 2016 We have all our work done in Moscow, Iowa and we drove to Forest City, Iowa. The weather is hot and very humid again today, but that is nothing new for here. Our friends stopped in a little town called Bondurant, Iowa to treat us to lunch in a neat place. The story behind it is a great story. Mary and Brian Lohse who live here won the lottery and it was a big one!
They won the 202.1 million Powerball jackpot, becoming the second-biggest lottery winners in Iowa history. Mary and Brian had done their homework in advance by meeting with financial planners for the future as they claimed their prize.
The Lohse chose to receive the prize as the lump-sum option of $129.8 million. The after-tax prize will be 90.9 million after 32.4 million in federal taxes and 6.5 million in state taxes were held from the lump sum prize.

| The Rueben |
They decided to build a grocery store and restaurant for the town with their money, because the town had no place for people to gather and eat and no grocery store., A chunk of the money will go to the towns grocery store, with a cafe where friends and family can gather and will make their village the best place on earth to live, love, and raise a family. The Lohses also gave 3 million to their sons school for a new football stadium. They requested that the visitors locker be painted pink!! The restaurant and grocery store are closed on Sundays so the employees can rest, spend time with their family and friends, and attend worship if they chose to do so.

| The pork loin |
We were really impressed with the grocery store and the restaurant was quite large and the employees wee so friendly and proud of the menu. They gave us samples of two of the salads that are the best sellers. John, Linda and Kent ordered the pork loin sandwich with a new kind of fries. I ordered a Rueben with the best sweet potato fries. We are going back there when we go through their next week. The rest of the gang wants to try my Rueben and because they are so big we have leftovers the next day.
