Friday May 4~~~~Today I spent the morning at Jean Marie's house helping her clean shrimp and chop vegetables for the shrimp creole she is making for the dinner party celebrating Pam and Jeff's 30th wedding anniversary tomorrow. Shelby and Durago were supposed to clean the shrimp but they stayed up too late the night before and were too tired. I cut up a lot of veggies for a couple of veggie trays and helped Jean Marie clean the shrimp. Good thing us grandma's stay in good shape!! Kent went to Portland again today so I was free to help. I think Jean Marie is making enough shrimp creole to feed an army., Lisa is bringing salad, Bill and Maggie french bread, Tress dips and spreads and breads so it will be nice. With the new deck all done it sure will look nice with plenty of seating for everyone inside and out. I have three round patio tables with cloths for them and 12 chairs and Pammy got a new patio set, so we have plenty of seating. We also might set up banquet tables and chairs inside the house for 40 people in case we get some typical Oregon rain or sprinkles.
Saturday May 5~~~~The party started at 4:30, so I went over there early to help set the last minute things up and we did set up tables and chairs inside as it is a little chilly outside, no rain though!! YEA!!!!! They had a nice bar set up on the deck and Tress's dips and spreads with different breads and the veggies to munch on.were very good. Tress takes a lot of cooking classes and she is always making something new for us to taste. It was fun to see some of their old classmates who I used to see so much years ago. The dinner was great and we all took home cartons of Creole, rice, bread and salad!! Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and we both almost forgot it with all the hub bub of Pam and Jeff's party. We all had a lot of fun, Jeff has a neat juke box and a pin ball machine in his family room, so no one was bored. . Sunday May 6~~~~We made plans to go to the casino this morning after Mass with our friend Gary before we remembered it was our anniversary, so why not do what we enjoy a lot, with our friend we enjoy so much, we went to the casino!! I ran into my friends I used to work with at the beauty shop (Pat and Nancy) and visited with them. I played one machine that kept me going the whole time I was there and I won $40 on it. I got tired of the same old thing, so I left my machine and spent $20 in a few minutes on the others. It was a fun day and it sure didn't seem like it was 6 years ago that we got married.
